The Tripod Adapter |

I was looking for a way to shoot at night with
my Diana camera. What I needed was a stable way of holding the camera
while the shutter was open for a few minutes. I didn't want to glue a
tripod socket or alter the camera. Gaffer taping the camera to a
tripod head was too awkward. What I came up with, was a camera
holder to attach the camera to the tripod.
It is very simple to make, with a few pieces of wood, and a 1/4 tee nut.
The parts are a 1x3, 7 inches long for the base, and (2) 1x2 pieces, 3.25
inches long for the uprights. The uprights are glued and screwed to the base.
The tee nut is mounted in the base, centered left and right, but slightly set
to the back, to offset the weight of the uprights. A bit of epoxy helps hold the
tee nut in place. I have added another screw to the side of the base to attach
another rubber band to hold the shutter open during my time exposure.
Your Diana must have a B-stop to take time exposures.
